Dear TOAW4 Developers.

After browsing your forum for TOAW4, I noticed a disturbing trend. People confused about the AI in this game. I myself was going to buy this game but once I read some RUMORS that not all scenarios had AI, I was taken aback. "Nope not going to buy" is what I told myself. Than I kept reading more and more comments. Now I see that indeed ALL scenarios have AI, but not all are PO. That right there makes a big difference, and I will now be buying this soon enough to enjoy.

Also people are upset about this not being on Steam and so am I. But having gone through this forum it seems that this has not YET gone to steam. But is in the works. Please make this especially clear for your consumers.

In conclusion please make a thread EXPLICITLY STATING, that this will be released to Steam and if they already bought the game that they can transfer their purchase there and not buy it again. ALSO please clarify that every SCENARIO HAVE AI. I am sorry people are too lazy to do research, but this is really scaring away lots of customers. Thank you.

ps. (SIDENOTE) To the guy dubbed BigJerk666 or whatever by the user Auschwitz or whatever. Not going back to check your names. BigJ, please stop telling me to grow a pair to face human opponents. You dont see that not everyone has wifi consistently, and are sometimes taking their laptop on travels to play games on it. Also people like AI because 30 years from now or so when they want to play this game again. If there was no AI for all scenarios, than some really cool maps will not have Human players available to play against. I know the idiots attacking this forum doesnt feel nice, but thats what forums for games are for; Complaining.

Thanks for reading my diatribe.

regarding this part, it's the same rule which applies to any game bought on this site and is 100% correct,...

if you buy a game from the site and in the future that game gets released, no matter how many years later etc, you also at the day of release get the option of logging into your account and members profile and getting yourself a steam key for any product you own.

as per link below

hope that puts your mind at ease.

Now I see that indeed ALL scenarios have AI, but not all are PO.

I am not sure you are right - there are some big scenarios without any form of AI: fx World at war 1939-45, Sino-Japanese War 1937-45, Pacific at War 1941-45 etc are only for PBEM. As far as I understand then a game against the AI in these games will be a mess. The AI are not capable of playing those scenarios because they are not programmed to that. Am I wrong?

My understanding, limited though it is, is that ALL scenario's have AI, it's built into the game engine for free.
BUT some scenario's don't have a PO with objectives and tracks to follow. And you named a few correctly. Them boys
are BIG and it's almost impossible to get a multi-year scenario programmed JUST RIGHT to provide playability and or
realism. That's why there's not a PO in every scenario. Small, quick ones are ideal for the PO. D21 is the
FITE with a PO and it's really decent a lot of the time. But that's the biggest I've seen it successful.

There is always a default "programmed AI" in every scenario that can be enabled. There may not be any PO scripting setup by author to assist the AI.

The TOAW AI has always had difficulty in naval oriented scenarios from my experience, at least older versions of it. "PBEM Only" in scenario description is the author warning you that they did no PO work and the scenario was not intended for Single Player, but you can always give it a go. Sometimes it plays better than expected, sometimes not.

I believe I saw a comment from devs that there may be an issue with the TOAW IV AI for naval assets "going to sleep". Not sure, but it is supposed to be addressed in future patch.
