Some of the challenges I would like to accept are asking for a password. What password is this? My login password or is this a password created by the challenger? If so, how is anyone who wants to accept the challenge supposed to know this? The manual doesn't explain this -- at least I could not find it.

The person creating the challenge, the challenger, has the option to put a password on his
challenge so that nobody but the person the challenger has in mind will accept the private
challenge. You COULD contact the person who issued the challenge to negotiate the
challenge but other than that you'd have to try about 10,000 passwords to find the right one
and that's tedious and error prone.

Once a player has accepted my challenge, and told me "it looks like you go first", I can't see how I actually start playing. Does anyone know?

I've had online challenges that I accepted that allowed me to set my password and that's it. Then the turn needed to be "started" by the other player doing their moves. I think it adds needless confusion and complication and is only there because it was part of the old design. Accepting the game challenge should move it to the "Load Next Turn" panel. Look there for your game.

Click on the middle tab (I think it says, "Load Next Turn") and then you should see "My Turns" and click the button to do your turn.
