Not sure if this is directly related to the Tool Tip Hide Delay issue (here) or technically a different issue:

It appears the Tool Tip does not hide automatically (at all) when it is shown overlaid on the right click menu. It keeps hanging there until I click somewhere (in the menu, on the map etc.) to make the right click menu disappear first.

Menu items that are obscured by the tool tip are not marked when I hover over them (so they appear to be unaccessible) but do work if I click on them. So perhaps this is more about aesthetics than functionality.

But I guess in these cases it is still desirable to have the tool tip hide according to Tool Tip Hide Delay value rather than stay there.
And perhaps display the right click menu always above the tool tip?

You may notice this in hexes where the two can overlap if you right-click fast enough and/or increase the Tool Tip Show value (Player Options) to 300 or 500 for example.

yes i would think so, had another user post an issue with it, but his was a hardware one, as he didn't have enough memory on the video card which slowed the redraw process down somewhat as when hr tried it on another pc, it worked fine for him, so maybe a report on the pc in question may say for sure it's not a hardware only issue for you, sorry if it's already been posted elsewhere and already been asked by me, but in each new post, and with the amount of posts, i soon forget who has and who hasn't etc, thanks

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

I can't reproduce it, but the tooltip shouldn't be active when the popup menu is there. I'll add it to my bug tracker.

I can always reproduce this if I select a unit (or hover the mouse over an already selected unit), and then right-click on that unit fast enough to make the right-click menu appear before the tool tip appears.

Ralph, if your system can reproduce it, then you may find it easier to do if you increase the Tool Tip Show value (Player Options). I like to delay them a second or longer. And it must be a hex where the tool tip and right-click menu can overlap and are not shown some distance apart. For example on my system always in hex 43, 18 (Faid) in good old Kasserine.

I can do that with units that are near of the top or bottom of the screen, right click on a unit before the tooltip shows and then NOT move the mouse, tooltip appears and covers some of the context menu.

I did that (I've got a trackball so not moving is very easy). It still goes away after the timer expires. It shouldn't pop up anyway, then it not going away isn't a problem.

In [4.0.1.15] the tooltip still appears on top of the right-click menu, but now disappears according to the Tooltip Hide value.
This works all right for me even if that is not how you intended it to be.

I let the tooltip disappear soon though; perhaps people with longer delays prefer the tooltip indeed is not active at all when the popup menu is there.
