I have just downloaded the game onto windows 10 and installed. When it starts there is a video, and then the next screen, I can see it is the first page , but it is shrunk down to about 30 % and is very strange colors, and is distorted. Also, when I run the separate update, I get an error message saying it can't update.

seems like a scaling or DPI issue so without knowing your setting and res etc, it's harder to explain and offer more correct advice etc

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

I had a look at the guides. Maybe someone with knowledge understands, but for me it is shorthand. Where is this thing the red arrow is pointing to? Also how do attach the report for the test. By the way it says there is no problem. I can't see anywhere on this forum where I can attach anything.

there's the info you need, it's the last screen, and says upload and attach etc

once in the game, you need to alter the screen size to match your desktop etc

I can't get into the game to select options. I have done all those things suggested in the guides, but I get the same result, this strange image, and then I can't close the application because none of the buttons on the image work. I have to escape and close the window.
PS. That suggestion you offered says nothing about attachment.

ok here's another one

install the game

patch to the latest version

then follow guides on how to alter the game to work with windows 10

then it should work, except if something it different on your version etc of windows 10 etc, as mine in the Language UK, hopefully it supports all version but until a report i wont know for sure either

ok there's nothing game related as errors so that's clean and good to know, so next question is did you install any or all the pre requisites that come with the game etc?





plus try turning this on in windows 10 as it's off by default but some or most older games will need it

regarding the pre requisites it would have been asked on the installer bu to make sure go into the game folder and look for this folder and install the setup file within _CommonRedist called DXSETUP

and try again at loading the game

I changed the display to the recommended setting, 1680x1050, uninstalled and reinstalled, and now it says
"Unable to start the program because your video card does not support at least 800x600x16 bit resolution"
Direct Play is on.

Hi zakblood hopefully you can help.
I have done the settings you have advised yet when I start game up I have a pink box with scenarios etc, unfortunately it isn't clear enough to make out all so pretty stuck.Thanks to you or anyone else that could help.

Hold down the Ctrl key when you launch the game to get the Options dialog. Select the General tab, then select the native resolution for your monitor.
