The Normandy Campaign at 1km
Original thread, not much of interest but some screenshots from TOAW III and a discussion concerning Bocage terrain as it applies to the map:
tm.asp?m=4027597

Scenario:
v1.3 posted 5-18-2020
Changed Precipitation from Moderate to Light because it was always cloudy and rainy over a lot of the map.
Added a Theater Option to Withdraw the British 6th Airborne to England to rest and refit if/when Argentan is captured by the Allies.

I was on OMAHA two years ago and I can tell you that what's beyond the beach is no "cropland".

Thank You ! The Historical Division of the War Department [USA] agrees with you and me [:D]
I am jealous of your visit, although I doubt that I well ever fly over the Atlantic to enjoy such a trip.

And another. It was a lot of effort to get this one into TOAW IV. You will notice that other than Bocage, these are not new graphics, they are either from TOAW III or custom. . I have left the TOAW IV Bocage in for now, but I still think it looks like dragon poop and I may still change it.

Thanks - that is a known bug with that view across all scenarios.

Edit: My mistake, I either mis-remembered that this was a bug, or I have discovered how to get around it. Either way, it has been corrected in the zip file.

Roger that, nothing that can't be worked around. Thanks for all the sharing.

Silvanski said something, wise as he is, that put me onto something, and it looks like I have fixed this scenario's 2D Small View. The zip in post one has been updated.

It looks fine here, let me know if you still have any issues. Thanks !

I tried and kept erroring, until you said 's_tiles_misc' ... then I heard !!

And for some reason in this scenario I had to install the 's_CounterUnits'. Other scenarios are fine without it [X(]

Nice work, Steve!
Question- what is your trick to prevent the Allied ships from doing random dances in the Atlantic?
In Operation Overlord I have taken your advice and set the Naval Attrition to 100. Any other tips?
cheers

Luck I guess ! Try to keep Naval Objectives simple and close together [in the case below only 4 Objectives for Track 1]. For this scenario, when the focus shifts from the beaches to Cherbourg, they switch to Track 2 which targets the naval units to the Cherbourg area. If it doesn't work as desired, change things around a bit. I don't know anything about the Naval AI so its all guesswork.

Thanks! I will give it a go.
Incidentally, your Designer Notes are excellent. It is interesting to read the thought process of a master designer; I have already gleaned a couple of ideas I plan to use (RR for example, no Bridge damage for another).
cheers
