AI turn skipped?

I'm messing around with the Kasserine tutorial, playing Axis. It seems that sometimes the PO turn comes up (my turn ends, all rounds spent) and nothing happens - it moves straight on to my turn, with no movement and no combat from the Allies. This is at turn 4. Can this legitimately happen?

Yes it can. Frequently. If all the Axis units are already at their
final objective then there's no place to go next and if there are no
adjacent enemy units there's nothing to attack. So unless your
strategic bias is Berserk there may not be much action. I've seen
it myself. All is well.

You sometimes get two turns in a row like that because you now have the initiative. Read 10.1. Variable Initiative in the manual.

I've noticed the same thing in other scenarios. If I had to guess, I would say the PO had chosen not to do anything during it's turn. Which is probably not the actual explanation of what is happening 'under the hood' of this game. I decided not to question it, and just take advantage of the bonus of exploiting what seems like taking 2 turns in a row.

Ah. I'm not in that position, Larry. I think Lobster is right, though - an initiative thing (but no warning was given of that - at least not that I saw). Many thanks.

New Turn Order Rules: If on, this option
will better equalize the two player-turns. The
details are listed in section 9.0.2.

Got it. Thanks. I did read that, but hadn't realised it would have that effect.
