Divisional SS Barbarossa Scenario

Hello, In this Barbarossa scenario I will remove Poland and replace it with the SS. I will also reduce amount of armies and corps and increase divisions and brigades.
The scenario will start just like the original except for a couple of extra SS units and some divisions for the soviets.
Please let me know if I'm trying to do something that isn't possible or if I can do it in another way without removing Poland..

I managed to edit the counters and flags, but I have no idea how to change the name of Poland to SS. Anyone knows?
Also, does anyone have any idea why I can't actually move into soviet territory with the SS units?
I have set them to 100% mobilized and aligned to Axis...

Not a modder, but I would guess the 2 problems are linked and that the (Poland) label is indicating that they are perhaps Polish units, I think it has to do with the # value
of the bitmap assigned. I saw something in a different thread that explained which bitmap #s were assigned to which major powers.

Yeah, there seems to be some problem with the #'s... Now it Seems like Poland/SS is the "main" Axis country :/
Hubert, Bill ? Any chance you can help me out here a bit ?

Hi
Poland will have to be renamed in the localization.txt file for your campaign. To do this, paste the following line in there:
#COUNTRY_ID_85= Poland
And in your campaign's campaign.ini file, set:
#CUSTOM_LOCALIZATION= 1
Note that this won't take effect if you already have the campaign open, you would need to shut it and reopen it again in that case.
Poland needs, via the Editor, to be set as Belligerent towards the USSR.
This is covered in Part 2 of the Manual, section 2.4.2. Campaign -> Edit Country Data.

Thanks Bill!
What does "Apply data" do ? I've searched in manual but can't find anything about it :/

'Apply Data' will apply all of the data on that page to any/all countries that you select, and for the selected unit type. This is a great feature [except that you have to watch out for unit types that have any different data from other types!].

Thanks sPz, that's what I thought, but I was just able to select one country in the research tab :/

Scenario seems to be working pretty well so far, only bugs spotted so far is one decision event for poland about moving units to middle east or keeping them in russia.
And also the report list shows 39 SS units while I only have 8 :/
Some encirclement[:)]

Hi Mrslobodan,
good job so far! [:)]
Even though it may seem easier at first glance to include the SS units as "major" in the game, wouldn't it be smarter to integrate them as a "minor" of Germany?
The benefits should clearly lie in the "realistic" distribution of MPP and research. In addition, an "artificiality" in the allocation of conquered resources (capitals) would be avoided. Since a unit assignment at divisional level could be comprehensively limited to one or two infantry unit slots and one tank slot, the necessary reservations in the Axis minor bitmaps would not really reduce the desired unit variety in the "real" minor countries.
This approach has worked quite well in my own mod for SC2. My conversion for SC3 is almost complete. However, I am still waiting for a largely finalized version of the game as I would like to avoid the extensive transfers of the frequent (as well as important) updates to my changed scenario.

Yeah, making them minor would be alot easier but I gave them the ability to build some different types of units, like divisions, corps, medium tanks (divisions) heavy tanks (corps), so it wouldn't be possible to give them a unique counter if they are set up as minor
I set the research to start the same as germany, only have to balance their income. I gave them 2 capitals (1 next to berlin and 1 next to munich), and only problem I see with this is if playing pbem I guess he allied player can focus bombing on those two spots..
