I'm pretty sure I have a couple of games that are not rated for xp and they still play. Would this game play on XP.

I expect that none of the testers have Win XP.

This was used at one time for XP, I do not know if it still works. Double Click on it and see what happens ! [W7 pictured].

Just installed on a XP virtual machine, and I can`t make it run so far.

There is a document named "What's New". Search for "XP" and note that WIN XP gets a mention.

Do you have the game? there's a "Opart 4 - Slow.exe" that that document (whatsnew 4.0.docx, it's in the manuals folder) recommends to use in older computers. For what is worth, I tried in my virtual machine XP and also did not work.

To try this out I just installed TOAOW 4 to my ancient laptop that is running Windows XP SP3 and which runs TOAOW 3 fine but TOAOW 4 doesn't work. No matter if you run opart4.exe or opart4 slow.exe, it says "file is not a valid WIN32 application". Maybe it needs a 64-bit OS or something.

There is little chance of it running on XP, I'm afraid, it was just getting too expensive to test and keep it compatible and not enough demand.

I may try a build just to see what happens, but I wouldn't hold my breath, sorry. The problem is that XP doesn't support Unicode which is now used throughout the application.

The 'Slow' version removes the requirement for a P4, but still requires Windows 7, I'm afraid.

but as it's not mentioned, no idea, but hopefully someone will comment on if it was tested on it etc

Is the .Net requirement because the game is written in a .Net language like C# or is it just because a minor DLL needs it.

Game requirements (.Net requirement) don't allow XP
