Hello everyone:

I've been going through and converting some older scenarios from Alternate Wars into IV format. This is a straight mechanical version with absolutely no changes whatsoever so I'm sure it's very very far from being optimized for IV, but being completely new to TOAW and scenario editing even getting here was a big step for me!

Attached please find Iranian Iraqi War 1980 to 1988 converted for IV.

This is an interesting and not well known war. Downloaded it and working.

One question though, do destroyed forces regenerate? Because as the Iraqis one can destroy the bulk of Iranian units that are at the border quite easily (as it should be) within the first 5 to 10 turns. If such forces do not regenerate, it would be difficult to match numbers against technology over a long period such as the one covered by this game.

If I recall correctly, there was some balance issue with destroyed forces or equipments making things a little bit too easy for the Iraquis.

You can always adjust it, null problemo. Check the RFC, AD/MRPB, perhaps use the new supply rules as well in order to limit one or the others side offensive capabilities.

Excellent scenario... a typical attrition warfare to learn to basics... as in Ukraine now ?
I write this post april 2th 2023, as the battles for the Donbass are going on.. for Bakhmut to Adviikva.

Stand with Ukraine
