Windows 10 compatible?

Since this is a re-release of an old Battlefront game, my question is this: is it compatible with Windows 10?

Also, does it run in a window, on big monitors, etc? In other words, has it been "modernized"?

I've installed on win10 64 and haven't had any issues so far. There is a choice of window or full screen setting. I play on a gaming laptop so can't help you with the bigger monitor question.

I’ve had a minor scaling problem getting the game to work at 1080p.

If you have an Nvidia card you have to do the following.

Nvidia card (adjust desktop size and position)
- full screen
- display scaling
- override scaling mode set by games and program

Game setting window mode.

You may have to restart the game.

You should be able to play at 1920x1080 (probably any native resolution, but only tested 1080p).

Not used to Matrix/Slitherine games having this kind of problem.
Was almost a gamekiller for me until I found the right setting that allowed my native resolution.

Other cards probably have similar settings, been a while since I have had an ATI card

I have Windows 7 and have a minor problem with Steam that I haven't bothered to track down and nuke because it doesn't currently effect me.

My Steam version works if I have the non-Steam version already installed.

I need both at the moment because I'm working on a mod, but will eventually want to switch to a Steam-only installation.

I'm guessing that by then that the hiccup will have been worked out.

Hello Wodin and Philippeatbay

Sorry to hear you have an issue with the Steam version.
Can you confirm what it is (I suspect it is DX7 related) ?

I have both the Steam and the non-Steam version installed. They both launch the pop-up menu when I click on the desktop shortcut, and the pop-up menus launch the game from both the Great War and Breakthrough buttons.

I then uninstall the Matrix version and run a deep scan cleaning out my regedit file.

I now attempt to run the Steam version without having the non-Steam version installed.

first I get this:

and about a half second later, this:

I reinstall the Matrix version and everything works.

I'm running on 64 bit Windows 7 Professional with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745.

Will share this with production team, its a bit of a head scratcher to be honest

Hopefully we can do something about this

Here are screenshots of my two installations. They're different, and that should suggest something.

The Matrix non-Steam version:

The Steam version:

Not my skill set, but it looks like Steam is trying to do DX7 in a slightly different way.
