GW AAR#2. The Rematch.

Wanting to give it another go against Pat in the hopes that I can make a better showing as the allies, Pat has generously agreed to another game and AAR. I've learned a lot about human to human MWiF play since our first game which we started almost 18 months ago. I do hope to be able to apply these lessons and give Pat a much more competitive game than I did in that one.

The Sides.

I will be playing the allies (again) and Pat will be playing the axis.

Optional Rules.

We agreed to play with the same optional/house rules as before with three notable exceptions.

1. No unlimited breakdown.

2. (House rule) No USSR Japan Pact.

3. (House rule) USSR Japan Compulsory Peace.

Why scrap that Soviet naval bomber?

I know that some do so but I tend to delay to do so until I actually plan to build one naval bomber and am sure that I do not want all three of them.

Habit, I guess. I probably should have kept it.

Here are the Italian Scrapped Units.

Here is the Italian Setup. Heavy against France and on the Egyptian border, though no HQ.

Fortified Tripoli on the east _and_ west - never thought of that one before, looks good.

Chinese scrap a 4 range fighter in hopes of getting their 7 range fighter. China starts with 2 4-range and 1 7-range fighter in their force pool. By scrapping the fighter they increase the odds of getting the 7-range fighter from 33% to 50%. But, alas the scrap was in vain ... the Chinese drew the remaining 4-range fighter.

After sleeping on and seeing how I setup in China I was not a happy camper. Pat has graciously agreed to allow me to adjust it. Hopefully my adjusted setup will be better than my original.

I am of the firm opinion that the Nationalists should always set up two units in Chengchow, to slow down the Japanese from rushing the Communists off the map.

Looking forward to seeing the CW TERR draws for this one. The AOI will need 2 moves to reach French Somaliland instead of just one, a minor boo-boo.
