I mostly play Campaigns. I've played the A-A Campaign multiple times. Has there been any changes to that campaign? There are so many new units etc. Are the new units, especially the Minors, mostly for scenarios? I also read that 1.08 has Marchael's updated Eastern Front Campaign. How does that differ from the A-A Campaign?

The latest version of the Eastern Front campaign can be found in the mods section and for the time being its name is Road to Moscow but it is the same campaign you mean.


The difference is that after Smolensk you continue with all three army groups in 1941 and reach the line Volkhov, Moscow, Rostov by the end of 1941 and after that the campaign ends, assuming that the Soviets are defeated and morally shocked so there is no fighting in 1942.
This campaign also includes Odessa scenario by terminator.

There are no choices on the strategic level, you just follow the historical events. The HQ is more demanding, one loss and that is the end - although you may lose at Kishinev, Odessa and in Crimea. These losses are less important and would not hinder the advance in other sectors.

After Smolensk, whatever direction you choose, you go to AG South, attacking Odessa and then Kiev. Before Kiev you can take the 2nd panzer group to south (4th, 10th, 17th and 18th panzer divisions as well as 10th and 29th motorized divisions and 1st cavalry) and encircle the Kiev area by two panzer groups as was done historically. Then AG South and AG Antonescu continue to Melitopol, Crimea and Rostov where the campaign ends for AG South.

AG North takes Luga and encircles Leningrad. Then AG Center fights the Soviets near Staraya Russa. You can deploy all AG Center in this scenario, it will be available again for attack on Moscow.

After Staraya Russa there is a situation that seems weird, you choose between Leningrad and Tikhvin but go to Wjasma. That is because Leningrad will be taken by blockade. You can send the 1st, 6th and 8th panzer divisions as well as motorized infantry divisions - and stugs if you have any - to AG Center. After Wjasma the campaign proceeds to Mozhaisk, Tikhvin (back to AGN - the scenarios are in the historical sequence) and finally Moscow. Before Moscow you have access to reserve and can bring the 2nd panzer group back to AGC if you want to.

The idea was to replay 1941 using the existing scenarios. This campaign now goes all way to Moscow. The ''official'' AARs are done until Riga and more will follow.

The Eastern Front campaign in the game is playable until Melitopol - I missed a bug there, a typo in victory conditions - but you can play Road to Moscow until a victorious end, just unzip it in the folder C:\Users\Your name\Documents\Germany at War\Campaigns. You will see it on the campaigns list as Road to Moscow or, in the German version, Weg nach Moskau.

There are no new units in the first scenarios but you can buy them as reinforcements or upgrades.
