Does anyone know if it's possible to mod missiles so that point defense weapons can shoot them down?

I do not think it is possible.... I did see a topic on Steam a few years ago where someone had suggested the same thing about shooting down missiles as a hoped for suggestion for Distant Worlds Universe.

I was rather doubtful that it could be done but I just wanted to check. Thanks for the info.

Months ago when I found out that PD did not affect missiles I looked into changing it. I learned a lot about how weapons work, most of it not good. It turns out that there are no separate "projectiles". The projectile you see essentially IS the weapon. That's who no weapon will ever generate more than one object at a time. I wanted to make a fast firing, slow moving, long range weapons and that is impossible. Anyway, long story short, I abandoned the idea as unworkable.

You do this with countermeasures (reduces to hit; include fleet) and shields. I added an equivalent number of shields to design to stop the expected amount of weapons fire. Works for other weapon types too.
