modelling HQ heirarchies, just for immersion's sake

I'm a total newbie to the game. Looking over the many Barbarossa or War in the East type scenarios, I was interested in the OOBs, how Army Group North or Center would be modeled, for instance. It was a bit surprising that there was no clear heirarchy of HQs in those scenarios.

For example:

There will be an Army Group North HQ, but in its formation there are no subordinate Army HQs. In turn the Army HQs do not have subordinate Corps HQs.

I'm guessing the reason for this is the various support levels that can be associated with formations. Is that right?

Perhaps one could model the HQ heirarchies by making all subordinate HQ/formations of the same unit color? A different color for each Army Group? From my reading, I realize that unit/icon coloring does affect the various support levels.

You answered most of your questions in the last paragraph. And yes, it's possible, alas always a bit abstract; assigning/re-assigning units to/from formations is one of the features I'd like to see.

I'd love this to be implemented.

Patience Grasshopper. Enough have asked for this that some day we may get our wishes granted. [;)]

Fire in the East has such an Army Group color scheme. Take a look.
