Hi all.
I can remember forum members advocating some specific books about the logistical aspect of the pacific war.. I just can't remember where, when or who mentioned it.....
Could someone pls refresh my memory.
On the topic of books.. any other gems relating to the pacific war are also very much appreciated!
Best Regards
Eric

The best book that I'm aware of about logistics from the US perspective in the Pacific Theater is
Beans, Bullets, and Black Oil.
As for books about the Pacific War in general, I liked Ian Toll's
Pacific Crucible and
The Conquering Tide.
Shattered Sword by Jonathan Parshall and Anthony Tully focuses on the Battle of Midway but is particularly good at explaining Japanese carrier operations, as well as dispelling some persistent myths about the battle.

Are there any books specifically about the Japanese economy? It would be interesting to compare historical production to WitP:AE.

I haven't read any, but you made me curious. A search on Amazon turned up the following:
The Economics of World War II
From reading descriptions and reviews of the few books, this seems to be the most crammed with statistics for comparison. It would also allow you to do comparisons of the game with US, British, and USSR production.
Japan Prepares for Total War
Looks like a good book if you want a more of a narrative rather than a stat heavy take on the Japanese economy.
Bankrupting the Enemy
This book is specific to economic warfare between Japan and the US.

Evans and Peattie's Kaigun : Strategy, tactics and technology of the IJN from 1997 remains the fundamental book about the Pacific War, including the logistical aspects of it.
