Routine scan found virus

Hi,
I have just passed a full computer antivirus scan with Avira and it has found HEUR/APC (Cloud) in:
C:\Matrix Games\World in Flames\Data\Unit Data\PaginateUnitsProj.exe
(it's the only EXE file where it was found in the whole computer).
It may be a false positive but I wanted to ask if someone in the forum has have any kind of similar experience in the past. It's kind of strange that if it was a real virus infection it only affected one exe file in the whole computer. The antivirus tries to find known patterns in the files and it may just be a matter of luck to find the virus pattern in this file.
A second question, is this file vital for the game working properly? At the moment I haven't deleted it, just renamed it to .exe.VIR
Thanks in advance!

Don't know what it does but I found that file and scanned it with AVG on my XP computer and it said it found nothing.
Found it on my Windows10 computer and scanned it with Windows Defender and it said no threats found.

Maybe it is infected after all. I may try to copy it into my Mac and scan with Avast to see what happens.
Thanks for your time Paul!

That's a small program that MWIF doesn't use.
I last ran it in 2008. It's sole purpose is to take the bitmaps of individual units and copy them into 'pages'. You can see both the pages and the individual bitmaps in the Bitmaps/Unit Bitmaps folder. As part of that process, it creates accompanying txt files for each page, which record the unit ID numbers for each bitmap.
None of this is very exciting. The program is maybe 100 lines long.

Thanks Steve, I will leave in quarantine then as it doesn't affect the game. Just out of curiosity, can anybody tell me how big is this file in bytes in their computer. If a virus piggibacks into a executable from a 100 lines of code program, it will definitelly increase the size of the file.
Mine is 410.624 bytes (401K) / 413.696 bytes in disk (404K) according to Windows Explorer.

Mine is
exactly the same size.
And my virus protection program has no objection to the file.
