In another thread, I described how I could not play the game due to Kaspersky internet security. Others have had the same problem.

I uninstalled the game on steam, and did a non steam install To my delight, the game worked fine, with no issues with Kaspersky.

I do not know if it will work for others, but it certainly worked and is working for me.

I cannot explain it.
