How do Axis players handle Vichy after US Entry?

Hi - I was wondering how Axis players handle Vichy (vs. a human player) after US entry? Obviously there are a number of options here e.g. whether to do it early and simultaneously attack Algeria and/Tunsia, whether to wait until the Allies DoW Algieria and/or Tunisia etc. Also what Axis forces are normally required to conquer and occupy key locations (i.e. Corsica and one or more southern ports) in Vichy in one turn, to forestall allied intervention? Thanks

I like to keep Vichy onside, as you gain a battle ship & cruiser in the MED. What I usually do is wack a lot of bombers in Sicily..that makes it almost impossible to take out Tunisia, unless he commits most of his carriers & then its a blood fest..but I also ship over all the Vichy French units & then raise new ones in Vichy.

But how do you get Vichy on your side, unless investing a lot in diplo?

Occupy Tunesia, Syria, Algeria, then Vichy.

As simple as that, eh? What are the allies doing in the meantime...

Yes, very simple: either you're getting Franco to join via diplo, or you`ll have to go all the way to Casablanca. If the Allies' presence in NA is strong you will perhaps decide to go "all in" in Libya first, otherwise you may wait with the DoWs until US mob. is already very high.
It`s necessary to conquer Vichy, since otherwise a strat. bombardement of Bordeaux will reduce Spain's prod. by 40%, and Allies' diplo superiority makes a DoW or other action necessary anyway.
If you're asking how, start a 41 campaign, DoW all the nations, turn off fog of war.

Looks harder to get Vichy into the Axis camp in the 1.11 update: - "An Allied Declaration of War on Algeria will now swing Vichy France by 20-35% towards the Axis, rather than the 30-45% it was previously swinging it (Mithrilloter)"

I usually gamble that Vichy will swing over once war is declared against Algeria. but if I worried about my opponent,I invest 1 chit
in dipolomcy. The trick is seeing how pro Vichy is when created.

The Axis isn't going to control Syria.
The objective of the France campaign is to hold Britain and Algiers. Try to hold France as long as possible while minimizing Axis experience, maybe inflict some damage.

Some Axis players just go for Algiers soon after the Fall of France. It's tricky, requires lots of planning and a bit of luck, but it can be done.
