"No effect"

Hi, I'm playing the "against all odds" scenario as the Arabs and 99% of the time I have a "No effect" message as a result of the combat. Well, I would admit that it's probably quite realistic given the poor troops I have in the scenario but I would like to be sure that I'm not missing anything obvious. Any comments ?
thx

Terrain effects, moral and quality of the enemy units, etc...if I got time I might do even a Tutorial '50 for CSME...

So it's normal. Ok, that's all I wanted to know :-) I find it actually realistic. The Israelis are trapped and retrenched in a village so it's very hard to get them... makes a lot of sense.

Israeli defenders at Ramat Rachel sit on a fortified Village, with Trenches and Bunkers. If you decide to make that your objective, make sure to soften them with your Mortars for a few turns.

Alternatively, you could go at the northern villages and capture them, making sure to proceed carefully in order to keep friendly losses at bay, and Israeli losses at high. Winning a scenario is not always about capturing Objectives. Pocketing unsuspecting enemies is often a way to go as well.

Edit: here they are: 56VP worth of hostiles out there in the (almost) open. Not enough for a Major Victory, but plenty for a Minor one...

-snip-

Looking good there. Next, try having all your mortars firing at the forward 25 objective, then Assault from several hex sides. If you have enough forces not Disrupted, save them for two Assault waves for the same turn. If the first Assault results even in a enemy Disruption, it is a good omen for the second one to succeed [:)]

Well noted ! Makes sense. My strategy was by far to basic and doomed to fail :-)
Will try to do better next time :-)
Got a draw ... :-(

I have played this scenario several times. For the Arabs, an exceedingly difficult tactical puzzle to solve!
