The computer side wont move its units, at all. I chose 2 scenarios to get my feet wet, bir gifgafa and then valley of tears, chose computer ( no fow) and played 7 turns in each, the computer is not playing....nop units move etc.

I get successful bridge laying messages for the syrians ( the comp. side) for hexes, but thats it no units actually move at all.

Strange... did you play through the bootcamp scenarios and the training missions? The AI, according to my humble observation, is quite a tough Schweinehund!. What are your optional rule/difficulty settings?

Note that, when you advance to the next phase, you should click on the "Side A Phase" or "Side B Phase" box to retire it. If instead you close that box with the Esc key, you can inadvertently deactivate the AI. If so, make sure that AI > Activate AI is checked.

The Valley of Tears scenarios are all marked "[H2H/SIDE B]". That is, best to play them as the Side B Syrians, if not H2H (PBEM).

Despite that, if you play those scenarios as the Israelis, yes, there will be little to no Syrian movement unless/until bridges are laid.

But best not to play the Tears* scenarios as the Israelis.

yes I did, I went back and have been trolling several scenarios, the bootcamp SAS scn. worked fine,so did a random battle I set up.....I played a Chinese farm scn. and that worked fine.

I have the adapt. ai on, arm facing on, no indirect fire or variable visibility.

Edit.

I just played valley of tears opening round, its running fine. Bridges lay enemy attacks etc etc..

So, I went back to Valley of tears 7 Oct 73 (day) were I had the original issue and its still stuck, messages from the Syrian side keep popping up for the same hex (99.2) that a Bridges has been laid and they have, at every conceivable ditch side and thats all it will do, 1o turns and no other unit has moved one hex...I think the scenario may need revamping.

I'll start a thread for berto/Jason and crossroads, perhaps they'll give a whirl....

I Thx Berto. Just saw your response.

Yes, I have been just clicking the pop up box to advance.

See my image, circled is a bridge unit trying to lay a bridge over a hex already has one laid from 99.2. IN the scn. there are lots of Syrian units past it already but not moving the bridge have been laid as you see them from turn 1 on.....

I tried changing sides moving the bridge units away and then played a few turns , the Syrians still have not moved.

I understand the h2h design, still thought i might get units moving and mounting an attack , I give a a heavy advantage to the Syrians when playing a h2h in this fashion for some balance.

Just briefly in to comment that the side recommendations are there for a reason. Valley of Tears scenarios are fun to play as Arabs vs AI-Israelis, as that is what they were designed for.

The other way around: Your Mileage May Vary.

Sure thing, understood. [8D]

For example, I am playing the V of T 1, Opening round and its a gas, they are building bridges in defilade positions ( helped by the VP hexes you created) and are pouring across, its touch and go right now.....

were in, maybe for the VofT Oct 7th I may have to help it along a bit...
