Possible PBEM chat bug

In my previous (v1.10 & v1.10 beta) games the Chat messages would self delete.
In my current 1.11 game the chat message I sent last turn appeared on the display for my current turn.
Hopefully it will not show up on my opponent's turn (thus having him see it twice).

It's also possible I'm misremembering when it gets deleted. If so, I apologize.

Secondly, is there a way to remove/delete it manually?
I see that it was added way back in version 1.02, but there is no information about it in the manual.
