Can anyone summarize the main differences? If I start a MP game of this size, I dont' want to regret which scenario I choose.

FITE2 is a play by email scenario only at 5k per hex and Directive 21 is programmed for an Axis Human player vs Soviet PO at 10K per hex.

My personal preference is for FITE but it has to be against a human opponent.

FITE 2 you will get lost in the vastness of Russia but only against a human opponent. It wil take you a few years to complete this game trust me I am still playing against my original opponent and its Spring going into Sum[X(]mer 1943

Willie and I started testing FITE2 as part of the Beta team. There were a couple of miss starts in getting balance into the game. Our current game is a continuation of the test game which started on 16 Sep 2015. In Game time we are now in May 1943.

Back in 2008(?) Willie and I started a game of FITE1 which ended in Nov 2012 when I lost the game on turn 365.

If you start a game you have to be prepared to make a commitment to the other player to see the game to the end. I have started a couple of games over the years and had the other player drop out.

I personally prefer 5km/battalion/regimental level, FITE is "monster Game", if you like Barbarossa and all things Eastern Front, go FITE. MHO

Thanks. I've played (well, started... lol) FITE1 three different times vs PBEM opponents. Never finished any of them. I think once got as far as the high-100s.

I was just curious if D21 was something worth doing PBEM. But I think I'll stick with FITE the next time I want a monster scenario.

I think the biggest risk you'd be taking with a D21 PBEM is that the scenario's balanced around Elmer running the commies; a TOAW veteran would presumably do a significantly better job.
