This is the 2nd game between M60 and myself, the previous game having ended on turn 9. I have no "Illusions of Grandeur" that this game is going to be anywhere close to the same as the previous game. M60 is a formidable opponent and I am both looking forward to the match and dreading it at the same time.

Here is the setup at the moment for the match;

* Bitter End - M60 wants to play the Bitter End campaign and it is fine by me but the sudden death rules will still be in place if I by chance am able to achieve such a feat. Automatic Victory condition that any time in 1941 that the German control Leningrad, Moscow, Rostov, and Vorzonezh the game immediately ends in German Victory

* Better CV M60 snuck this one in too. I don't like it but /shrug

* No Random weather

* No Para's

* No naval invasions until 42 and none past Sevstapol if German Occupied

* Full Blizzard

* Patch Version 1.11.01 . (On edit corrected this to the correct patch version)

Did you agree to the house rule concerning leader changes? I thought this was a very interesting proposal.

No we didn't. Just went with a straight up game. I have a plethora of ideas but they normally never hit the track running ;(

Will be a little bit for substance in the thread. First gotta get my old grey matter working as a German again. Been over 6 months since I set foot on this side of the fence and getting electrical input to old brain cells is tedious. So I will be practicing my opening & pulling out my notebook with my plethora of notes in it. Not to mention there will be a delay in my postings otherwise I might end up in one of those SS Death Camps.... (Oh crap did I say that out loud) I mean I might end up in one of those holiday spas for relocated people of Europe.

I have dabbled with the Soviets off and on for the past year and half (like less than 25 GC games overall in my career of WITE 1.0). I have played the Germans the most & am pretty familiar with them. I'm not that good of a German player but I can get the job done.

So something like 95% of my games have been as Germany if that gives you an idea LastKozak

But Hardluck knows something we do not. He knows who he played, how good they were, and how much of his success was due to exploiting a mistake made by his opponent.

That all said, modesty is the best counter intelligence!

If I thought somebody was not a great player, I would probably take more chances, or rush through the turn more often than not. But if it were a good player, I would be making a grave mistake with that approach.

So it begins I normally PM/email my opponent the 1st casualty of the war when playing Germany. But since there is an AAR I will post it here. Normally I shoot down a Soviet but this time that is not the case. The first casualty is a Rumanian. BAD OMEN! This does not bode well, time to get out the chicken bones and voodoo to reverse this bad luck.

I don't know if this can be maintained. At the rate you're losing recon planes you're going to have a serious shortage within weeks, even with the plentiful supply Germany has. I mean I'm doing a bit of extrapolation here, but I'd say Soviet victory early 1943.

Rumanian front Air loses so far. Rumanian Tact bombers sux monkey ballz now ..... Was able to just barely squeeze out over 1k kills on this front It is what it is, darn Ghosts in the machine.

Whelp, now on to the Southern front. Don't know how much of this I'm getting done tonight since I have to be extremely careful on my moves. Why? Well you will just have to wait and I will show you why

Oh, before I forget it. I mentioned above about not liking better CV value. It makes my life a great deal easier. Yes, I said easier. I would advise against it but M60 wanted it.
