Antiaircraft Question

Is the antiaircraft value of a unit compared to the defense strength of the air unit for the purposes of calculating air losses due to antiaircraft fire?

For example, a heavy machine gun has an antiaircraft value of 2, and it fires at an air unit that has an air defense of 11. Is that the ratio (2/11) used for calculating antiaircraft losses?

Another way of asking the question: Is the air defense strength of an air unit taken into account when determining antiaircraft losses? In other words, is an air unit with an air defense strength of 2 easier to shoot down with antiaircraft than an air unit with an air defense strength of 11?

Again, Kamerad Hauser, it's a tad more complex I am afraid. The best bet to see results how they work is... well, I only got the Tutorial '44 to offer and to look at the toawlog. If I recall correctly, there's some formula and description about AAA combat somewhere in the manual; but don't nail me on that, please.

Sorry for making my initial question more complicated than it needed to be.

I only need a general-case answer to the question: In general, is an air unit that has an air defense strength of 2 easier to shoot down with antiaircraft than an air unit that has an air defense strength of 11?

From the logic of defence values... yes. E.g. AAA capable units have an Antt-Air value as well as aircrafts have. Aircrafts, as you've pointed out, have a DF value, too. So, the answer would be yes.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Look at the AA value of the infamous 40mm Swedish Bofors (of course, against low level attackers).
