PBEM Connection Error

Hello,
I'm eager to play this game against a human after defeating the AI. I set up a game with a mutual friend and tried to play. When I attempted to end my turn and the game tried to upload the package, I received a message: Connection Error [29] You are not in the game. I re-tried to send the turn several times with the same result. My friend set up a game, but the same error occurred. I was able to save my games to the server successfully-- it was only when I ended my turn that the problem occurred. After perusing the forums, it looked like another individual had a similar situation in the thread "PBEM Server Communications Error"-- though he was receiving a different error. (I apologize for not posting a link, but apparently I'm not allowed to according to the forum software.
I contacted the Matrix support site and opened a ticket. I was informed that it was probably my anti-virus software that was the culprit. I checked, only to find that not only had the software made an exception for Strategic Command, but that one existed for all Matrix and Steam games. Nonetheless, I turned off my anti-virus program (along with Windows Defender) and tried to send the turn, only to receive the same error. I replied to the support staff's email, but have yet to receive a response. Perhaps I am being too impatient, but I was hoping that someone would have some advice or that the programmers might see this.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it doesn't have to do with the fact that I recently consolidated my Matrix and Slitherine accounts, and chose a different user name (ManyMariuses, rather than my real name). Might the problem be that the game recognizes my old user name, since that was the name under which I purchased the game? Additionally, I'm not sure how successful the consolidation was, given that I was prompted to consolidate my accounts when I logged on to post this message.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm really eager to play this incredible game against a human being!
