Norway Convoy Start

I always wondered why the convoy in Norway to Germany starts in Narvik and not in Trondheim where it appears there is a mine next to it? I would be interested in hearing some thoughts on the rationale for this.

Secondly, once we get the decision to move the convoy, why does it not come out of Oslo where there is (according to the map) railway lines instead of Kristiansand where there does not appear to be railway lines?

Third, why is Sweden convoy to Germany not coming out of Malmo? This seems a logical choice in terms of distance and weather.

I would enjoy hearing from the community experts out there.

Thanks,
Parra

In terms of the first question, Norway shipped Swedish ore to Germany and that came from across the Swedish border to Narvik. That's also why the Swedish convoy flows from the north, as that's where the bulk of Swedish ore was mined.

Off hand I'm not sure why Kristiansand rather than Oslo. I have a feeling that at some point in the past the code didn't allow a convoy to flow through land/sea hexes, i.e. those south of Oslo, but I could be wrong as this was all designed some years ago and it's hard for me to remember.
