A Look at the Combat Planning to maximize rounds

Good day,

Having seen how many more rounds the Axis player was able to conduct when I played the Kasserine 43 scenario as the Allied player, I realized that I could do much better. I studied the manual - truly - and looked at a thread by one of the veteran players here.

Putting what I learned allowed me to get 3-4 attack rounds in each turn. The key is using the planned combat report once all attacks are set up to ensure that there are none lasting significantly longer than the others.

This slide shows how by looking at planned attacks you can determine why an attack was going to take so long and how to shorten it.

Here is another example - also showing the location of the planned combat report...

Here is a slide showing how many attacks I was able to get in during 3 different turns. The first time I played this scenario I got a lot less attacks each turn. The end result of getting more attacks is being more efficient and getting better overall results.

My replay of the tutorial scenario went so much better - even though I was really trying to test my attack planning and not really worrying about how the game played. By conducting so many more attacks, I was able to destroy more Allied units and then advance further.

I hope this is clear, if you have questions or comments please let me know. I want to continue to learn how to play better...

You can also keep an eye on the red circled area below. As you set attacks, if any are 'late' the expended time will advance.
