When you set Engineers to repair bridges or roads or whatever, how can you tell what they are doing and whether they have finished their task? There seems to be no obvious tell tale sign.
Thank-you

When you select say Rail Road Repair, Just a mouse over of the hex is needed after clicking the repair option....GP

In the war room I made a post about how it works in the scenario I'm playing, at least.

If the bridge or rail line is repaired after the attempt, the attempt was successful. Otherwise, it was unsuccessful.

Concur, you will hear the sound of repair over the bridge or railroad, additionally as Lemay states the bridge or railroad will be repaired ready for use.

I tried that but it didn't seem to tell me anything about the engineer, what it was doing, and whether it had finished.

Thanks all.

Right, one attempt, you can access your Eng. unit and it will show a probability of success, i.e 73%,92% ect. You can also divide your railroad units, and get at least 3 tries, but at a lower percentage. I use this on big scenarios, and railroad units can repair like Eng.'s. Good Luck.

Sorry for the thread necro but is there any way to see what units can do rail repair without searching every unit on the map individually? Playing Road to Moscow AGC II Smolensk and can't find any units with rail repair as their special ability. Thanks.

I've been known to go to the OOB and sort on Unit Type and scroll down looking for the RR engineers. Been working so far.

Thanks. When I do that all I see are ferry engineers so there must not be any RR engineers for the Germans in this scenario.

Thanks for your interest and feedback on the Road to Moscow series.
Actually, Army Group Center has several RR Repair units (Eisenbahn.Bau-Bn) that appear later. It took a while to get there.
Cheers

On the Button Panel, with the Unit Tab selected, on the third row, the fourth button cycles through the options
This button only cycles between the strength and movement points display on the counters:

Then those are the only options you have enabled. See posts #12 & #13 of that thread.

Yeah that had me confused too until seeing those posts. I "assumed" those things were set by the scenario designer, not the player.
