Gazala: The First 5 Days... DAR and notes

Playing as the Axis against the AI. Leaving the setup as is. No advantage/FOW.

I'm going to be as detailed as possible so this might take a bit of time.

Down load and installation clean.

Question?.... The "Greyish" hexes vs Desert Hexes...When right clicked on either, they both show up as "Desert". What's the difference?

Just an experiment...and I'm confused. I moved two (2) units of the 15 Rifle Bde through the minefield hexes. The Terrain Effects say this is not possible...???????

The rules state that units "Adjacent" to a minefield expend their entire movement allowance to cross a Minefield hex, but the TEC "Right Click" obviously does not

I stand corrected...The notes state that "The penalties apply only if "Attacking" across the hexside....But still confusing....

No difference in those desert hexes. The colours may vary slightly to add some ... eh ... colour to the map ;).
Yes, units expend their entire movement points to cross minefields and (for those who haven't played the game), supply does not cross minefields, but Engineers can "breach" minefields so that movement is easier, and supply can cross, though attacking over breached minefields still has negative penalties.

Turn 1 Axis Planning Phase....The operational plan has the 15th and 21st Pz outflanking the Allied position at Bir Hachiem along with the Italian Ariete. The 90th Light heads for Bir El Gubi to provide flank security and to threaten the airfield at Sidi Rezegh. The Trieste will attack north of Bir Hachiem in an attempt to isolate the outpost. The rest of the front will hammer the front lines with artillery and probe for weakness.....We'll see what happens.

Axis Planning Phase, Turn 1

In the north, from the Coast Road to the Rough terrain south of Gazala, the German 15th Rifle Bde, the Italian 60th "Sabratha" Inf Div, Trento Motorized Div, and the 27th "Brescia" Inf Div hold their positions in their entrenchments.

Axis Planning Phase T2....Well the movement of the Ariete Div comes to a screeching halt south of Bir Hachiem as the Ariete Recce runs into what appears to be the screen line of the British 7th Armored Div.

(Sorry about the picture clarity/size. The 200kb limit is a killer)

Note the incorrect counter color for the Allied Recce Co. (Circled in Red) and the continued presence of the rogue arty symbols....But I might be wrong....

Axis Planning Phase T3...The 70th 'Sabratha" Inf, with heavy Engineer support from the XXI Corp, begin their breaching operations. The Objective is to complete the breach and swing north towards Gazala. If successful, the German 15th Rifle Bde will support the attack along the coast road. The 15th's Artillery Bn moves south to better support the Italian's
