constantly connecting

I don't remember this happening before, maybe with latest patch.
My PBEM games, after I click PBEM and see my games (green), the game quickly goes to connecting - this lasts some 20 seconds or so. I've found recently that I have to watch and click pretty quick to keep it from doing this again and again.
Is there anyway to disable this (or increase the time delay)? I really don't need it to check over and over, just when I first load my PBEM's. And like I said, it has changed to the point that I have to be really quick to click on a game before it starts the cycle again.
