PBEM++ Crashing

I'm encountering a problem every time I try to open PBEM.
It says I don't have an account, but every time I hit either of the "create new" or "use existing" buttons, the game crashes to desktop after an error message that just says "Barbarossa.exe has stopped working."
The game works fine except for that--I have no problems playing single-player.
Anyone have any clue what the issue might be?
I've attached a screenshot of the error that pops up.

Hi,
Thats interesting. Didn't see that before. It must crash during actual internet communication commencing.
Due to the type of error it looks like Barbarossa is crashing because of 3rd party application.
Could you check if you have any firewall or anti-virus software running?
If so could you try disabling them?
As a work around: you can also play PBEM without PBEM++. Just start a new game and in the setup set 2 human players, flag Passwords, and after doing your turn and pressing end turn save the game and send it to your opponent by email.
Best wishes,
Vic

Hiya, Vic,
Thanks for the tip, but I'm getting the same error/crash with all firewalls and anti-virus shut off. No idea what program could be running that'd be causing this, but I'll poke around a bit.
Until then, the traditional PBe-Mail should do just fine. Was hoping to take advantage of the convenient PBEM++ system, though!

Hi,
Could you get me a diagdx report?
http://www.matrixgames.com/support/faq.asp?id=22
Also whats your version (indicated in splash screen menu)
Don't get your hopes up. But i'll take a look if i can find something faulty with the game on your system.
Best wishes,
Vic

Sure thing, Vic.
Splash menu says "1.05", but in-game it's the most up to date (1.05V5, I think?) version available.
I've attached the dxdiag file to this post.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
