Got nostalgic for this game so I followed the guide in the tech support (I am running Win8). Very clear and helpful BTW but when I run the game I get the loading screen and then a black screen where I can see the cursor and hear the music. Anyone seen this/is there a workaround. I tried searching and didn't see anyone else having this sort of issue.

I just installed UV on a new Win10 system this evening and had a similar experience. Through trial and error, I found that hitting the ESC key ended whatever animation sequence the game was presenting and brought back the display. I can't say if this will work under Win8/8.1 but it's worth a try.
