Turkey/Sweden supply and US diplomacy

If Turkey joins Axis and Bulgaria is also Axis, will Turkish cities/towns be limited to 5 max the way Africa is (since it can't trace to primary supply directly I suppose?) or will it go up to 8 or 10? Basically can supply be traced across bosporus strait like a regular land rail hex?
Same question for Sweden. It looks like there is a land bridge North of Copenhagen although there is no rail line going to the hex - will Sweden that aligns to Axis be able to get more than 5 value for its towns/cities?
Also is there any way to get Finland to more than 5?
Hope this question makes sense - I'm a bit foggy on all of this.
Oh one other random question - has anyone looked at whether it's worth spending diplo points on US diplomacy to keep them out? At 150 per chit it seems expensive. Will they get some automatic increase per turn that makes them join quickly even if Germany spends diplomacy on them? i.e. is it throwing away money to spend it on diplo of US?
Thanks
