Hi guys
Here's the setup and the conditions.
Germany 03/45, US (Buzz) vs. Ger (Lynch).
Vis. 17, time 0500, length 20, medium map (100x60).
H2H-mod, C&C Off, asterisk ( * ) enabled.
You may get a ”security violation OOB message”. This is normal and could be disregarded.
Your PW’s will be sent to you separately.
I would recommend you to be careful when calling in reinforcement. This is a small battle and big things could ruin the balance. But as always it’s up to you players to set the rules.
Your orders:
The allied High Command have indications to suspect that German units are pulled together in the south of Germany. There is also a rumor that Adolf himself is about to move his headquarter there. The small village of Hoelzendorf is placed along the road and railroad leading from Berlin to Bavaria.
Commander Buzzard, take your recon-force and move quickly to take control of this village so we’ll be able to cut of these two major German transportation routs. Any high ranking officers taken prisoners should promptly be escorted to HQ for questioning.
Oberst Lynch, the village of Holzendorf has been forgotten in this time of despair. Use any rolling equipment you can find and hurry in to secure the village. Intelligence indicates a major allied force is moving towards the area. Stop the allied attack and keep the escape route in our control.
Good luck and happy gaming
/Lars

The troops are nearing Hoelzendorf, while keeping an eye out for the enemy.
Over to you Buzzard:)
Thanks for the warning..

I see the smoke, but nothing else. It looks like recon vs recon. Beware of the nasty back-up units. I wouldn't want to stick my nose out too far.

if I were you. It might hurt:) and you'll end up with no nose like this guy.

The recon units will clash soon, just a question how far your heavier units are behind.....hopefully far.

OOPS, Too late. We bumped. I sent a couple of recons reeling until I discovered a PUma just around the corner.
Hmmm, I think I'll give it a minute.
Run Away. Run Away

The pumas are good recon units. They have a fearsome bite, but not as fast as Greyhounds:D
Some more small action at the outskirts of Hoelzendorf, which is almost on american hands, for now.

There is one

Puma that has no more bite:D
A Luchs with a 20mm fought hard and took out a HT, routed Rifle squad AND punched a hole in a Chaffe. It didn't think the 20mm could do it to the front of a Chaffe but it did. I had to send in a second one to finish him off.
The Flanks are quiet but a long line of trucks and StuGs are heading down the road into town. We took some shots at a truck but it was too far away.
Keep your head down Lynch. It could be your neck in the noose.

That puma will be missed, but the Luchs´ aren´t so bad either:D
I still haven´t seen any of your heavy armor. Where can they be?

Heavy armor?

You have heavy armor? The Chaffee is the best I've got. That is why I was so surprised that the Luchs took it out.
They don't work so good on StuGs but I managed to get 2 of them with the Chaffee and one with a Bazooka. Another is damaged but the message went by too quick for me to read it.. I took out the other Puma as well as some infantry and MG squads. The centre if pretty much mine, but the flanks are still yours. I had fun getting the StuGs to turn their back to me. Cost a jeep and a HT but it was worth it.
Most of your centre should be running along with the Companie Chef!!!

Designers note; No heavy or thick skinned from the start...

No problem. My Chaffees are doing the job. They just need a little help from the infantry.

Wauw, what a complete overrun of my forces in Hoelzendorf. What I thought would be a hard street for street fight inside the city, ended up in the complete rout of two platoons of SS with their supporting arty.
I apparently committed to few troops in the city, but now I have to hope you make some great mistake. (though I don´t believe it much)

CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH
They go down like Ants under my boots. Two more platoons gone plus a Stugs and Puma and an AA HT. I lost 3 HTs and a jeep.
You have played well. I couldn't see how you could have done anything differently. You didn't have time to go to the attack. I'll stay in town if you want to call in more units. I could use an ammo truck though.

This is Oberst Lynch......
We have encountered an overwhelming american in Hoelzendorf. I have lost most of my SS-grenadiers and 10 armored vehicles and lots of trucks.
If we are not relieved the americans will be in Berlin soon....
You are so modest

I lost 3 Chaffes in Lynch's and another in mine. I fired everything in my arcenal against a PzIV but couldn't dent it. And there are three of them.
Lynch has skirted around me and is collecting vHexes at a feverish rate. I hold most of the town but now he is behind me.
Its time to call on some help.

You were right about my panzers, they are hard to kill. But I recon they are gone after this turn, because they couldn´t rally, so you did hit them enough;)
My plan with the outflank, didn´t work at best. I thought my SS troops could hold you off inside the city, but they barely reached the city before you attacked and destroyed them. So now I´ve only got the armor at the flanks.
