Hi Krupinski,

Could you be a bit more specific which one I have to load and where to click to repeat the bug?

Or if it does not happen at start game, could you send me a save game to vic@vrdesigns.net ?

Would be appreciated!

If there is a bug it needs to be squashed.

Best wishes,
Vic

It happens ONLY with some scenarios.
It happens ONLY when:
1) click on whatever unit (Rifle I, Mortar I, etc)
2) click on COMBAT STATS badge

EXCEPTION ERROR.
Can not continue game.

War in the Med by Tom Weber (.pt2).
CLASSIC_EVENSTEVEN\Clash of Steel.at2
CLASSIC_EVENSTEVEN\Two Roads.at2
CLASSIC_FICTIONAL\End of a Union.at2

It generally looks like the problem occurs with older ones.
It probably affects all of them.
Win XP by the way.

Tried 227d exe file (not whole patch) and still error.
But with older version (200c) of the game (other folder) was OK.
Tried 225c exe file --- SUCCESS.
Even without the rest of content of that patch. Sole exe file was sufficient.

BY THE WAY:

Hi Khanti,

While I am no Vic,I have some comments that will help and some that won't ...

I observed you problem with the availability of only some item groups in the combat stats, and Vic has fixed it in more recent patches. Here's the bad news. Win XP will no longer be supported by ATG once you install some of these later patches.

Claus,

You're right. 227g.exe shows all target groups. And it still plays on Win XP.

But the main subject is: older scenarios crash on 227g.exe when one tries to look at combat stats.

I don't have Win 7/8/10 on my playing PC, so did not test them.

Yeah, don't have a solution for you there...

There is simple solution [;)]

For older scenarios I use 225c.exe. I can live without all target groups visible (those all scenarios mostly have not many target groups).

Vic:

Could you add extra engineers so that some can specialize in one type of construction: Say engineers that build roads, another group of engineers specialize in rail roads taking much longer to build but still possible. Both the Germans and Russians had specialized Army assigned units for building roads, railroads, or forts. I am aware that this means some changes to the basic game.

Can only have one type of road in a game.

Not if Vic adds a new engineer type to the game. But if he adds a new RuleVar that has a second engineer type do a different type of road or changes the RuleVar so that the type of road being built is decided when the engineer is set to build a road...with changes to how many EP, raw, etc., are used when building different types of roads. I know this adds to the basic game and may take a lot of programming or not...I don't know the engine that is used or if it is entirely done by Vic.

Remember that the OLD railroad engineers built the Transcontinental railroad in the 1800's in just a few years (first spike was set in 1863 although real construction did not start until July 1865 and last in May 1869. And some of that was Rocky and Sierra Nevada Mountains (High mountains in this game). The actual meeting place was not decided until 1869 as both construction companies wanted to maximize their governments $32000 per mile built bonuses (in 1869 dollars). "Indeed, at one point the graders from both companies, working ahead of track layers, actually passed one another as they were unwilling to concede territory to their competitors." In fact it was later revealed that one the construction companies along with some Senators and Representatives had purposely lengthen their segment to get more money from the government.

EDIT>>West end was Sacramento, California while the east end was Omaha, Nebraska.
