Lets do this! Image

Let's roll!

Uh oh... this is experimental to say the least. Apparently, our recon company is bogged down in heavy fighting at another part of the front, along with our heavy artillery support. It will take a while before we'll see any of them...

First turn moving forward, while keeping suspected enemy troop concentrations busy with small 81mm gifts from above. With this visibility, we're sitting ducks if the Russians can muster antitank units... KV-1s we do not fear, as they sucketh at long ranges. :D

Not much....

I lost a KV to a Bel shot...(ie: Bel gets lucky sometimes)

I see a slew of Katz up north! Know what that means?

Few Katz down south!:D

See you too! :D

Several KV-1 with infantry on top are seen north and south-center, along with KV-2s and KV-8s. KV-1s are expensive and slow! Less T-34s to worry about! :)

Trained my gunners some, but at 25+ range, guns don't bite too well at 120mm of armor. I'm going for the psychological factor here!

Flee before it's too late :p

Russian mortar fire catches up with the armored advance. After lots of shouting and name-calling over the radios, the company commander gets everyone focused and we outrun the barrage.

No kills, but ATGs on overwatch open fire at the approaching behemoths. Lots and lots of *FRONT TURRET HIT* and *FRONT HULL HIT*. Bet those guys need some vodka for their nerves by now! :D

So far, Jess is down a KV-2 platoon and a couple of his KV-1 crews is probably on the verge of breaking. I hope. :p

We're close to the north and south VH clusters. The central one is taken by infantry escorted by several platoons of KV-1. It's those guys that are getting all the attention right now.

I dig in...Dang those KVs suck! theu dont even run!

Russian Farmers take out a 81mm Mort;)

Them farmers are everywhere.

Battle erupts as Panzers race up the slopes of the northern VH hill, capturing them just before Russians get there. The russians climbing up the opposite side fire at point-blank range , but are fended off for the moment. Two KV-2s and a KV-1 lay smouldering at the hillside along with numerous dead infantry.

A KV-1 scores Russian first tank kill by a spec op fire.

In the south, advance on the VH cluster continue. a KV-2 platoon is put under fire from Panzers and SiGs, decrewing one. :p

Artillery fire put some hurt on the reds, while they are zeroing in on one of our mortar squads.

Teehee. I guess you leave it to me to say that you lost 3 more KVs during your turn? ;)

Advance on the south VH cluster continues (it's a forested hill between us and them), making all seen infantry run. A KV-8 is out camping when bullets and shells come flying from all directions over the hill. The crew decides it's safer outside, but is ripped apart by the bullet storm as they try to escape. :)

In the center two platoons of KV are still approaching, and one of them is really quick on the trigger. He's taken some 20 hits by now, but given half a chance he will snap off a shot. That's the spirit! :)

North: Tank battle! We have secured the VH hill, but russian tanks in company strength is on the plain below, loaded with HMG, infantry and whatnot. KV-2s are easy targets, but the KV-1 imps are a different story. We expend all our ammo to the tune of *boink* *binnk* *boinnk*.... and to make matters worse, Olga is catching up from behind.

Everyone's still alive, though. Good thing Russian target practice has been neglected! Except for being a target practice themselves, that is! :D

This is turn 5, so reinforcements may be called in! I have already sent a request for a guy with some good maps a decent radio...

Reinforcements......sweet words indeed!

I will never buy an all KV tank group again...

34s on the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

now if I can just hold! :D

KV's do have limitations. A thick hide does not guarantee success on the battlefield. I'll guess I'm gonna be chewed up and spit out once Jess' 1000000 T-34s appear...

HOLY COW! The ENTIRE Olga mortar park hit our positions on the northern hill! From two tanks there can be heard nothing but faint, whining sounds coming from the inside, sounding like "Mutter!" The rest of the company surges forward, pushing infantry and tanks before them. The KVs are now in a nice rout, and we send them some more Wehrmacht love on their bidding adieu. :p

In the south, a KV-2 that tried to hide behind a cavalry smoke screen is picked off with a single round. A PzBuchse team decides to take on a KV-8. Whooo brave guys! And they actually hit! ATRs usually have the accuracy of a blind rat...

Better make the most of this while we can. Russian reinforcements will be nasty, no doubt! ;)

We're not in battle up north - we're at the gunnery range. :D No KV trophy this turn, but Jess needs to ask STAVKA for a new infantry company. ;)

Down south, the situation quickly turned ugly with the appearance of OLGA and a platoon of KV-1. Olga does hurt when shes mad. To add insult on top of injury, our 105 crews divided their targets equally between ourselves and the enemy. Study-the-godd*mn-map-coordinates! I will see to it that the commander is stripped of rank and sent to the front....with a huge target board strapped to his back.

At this moment, we control the battlefield, at least until the inevitable appearance of Jess' T-34s. :)

A KV-2 is quickly picked off as it was still capable of lobbing shells our way, and our sharp-eyed gunners killed a fleeing KV-1 from a range that should be safe for any of those green monsters. We're still clearing up that inf. company in the north, Lt Hoffmann now has 7 confirmed kills - in 8 turns.

A bronze Close Assault badge is awarded in the south, as a Grenadier squad goes "Rambo" on a KV-1, killing the tank and maybe also the infantry on it - they disappeared. We call in some artillery to soften up resistance around that area. We're close to the VHs, but it feels like miles away.

Olga comes back and kills some of her own kind. Ha-ha.
