Climate and Weather

I'm thoroughly confused regarding how climate relates to weather zones. So much so, I'm not even sure how to ask a question. Maybe someone can just give a brief overview of how these relate - or answer the simplest of questions: Is each weather zone limited to one climate?
Thanks for any discussion on this topic,

Hi Mark,
As far as I did understand you have to define each hexes as a weather zone.
Then each zone can be edited (season, % of rain, snow ect...)
The thing wich is not clear is the difference between Primary/secondary seasonal effect.[&:]
Also the advanced setting window (second screenshot) is a unclear also. I cant see the use of this one

So.... are you saying there is one set of seasonal effects for each climate? i.e., semi-arid has the same seasonal effects for every weather zone? And, each weather zone has only one climate? If that's the case, it seems the system is over specified because, for example, every temperate weather zone would have the same seasonal effects making weather zones (or climate; one or the other) pointless. I think I'm not grasping something on this [:(]
Thanks for the response SIPRES.

I'm seeing that a given climate can indeed have different seasonal effects in different weather zones. Perhaps climate is simply to pick which bitmap sprites are used to draw the hexes?

Largely, but it also sets some parameters as to what weather options are available.
This can most clearly be seen by setting an extreme climate, and noticing the changes when compared with temperate.

Weather, including the advance settings, are explained in Part 2 of the Manual, page 133 of the hardback version, with the advanced settings being explained there in section 2.4.18

Thanks Bill for the explanation and pointer to the manual.
I thought I'd hunted down weather in the manual, but I don't have the hardback version. I'll look again in the electronic version.
