The units as they are cover almost anything in 1941 - 1942. There are a couple of non-existing units that could be made later if there are future versions:
- Early Pz III E with 37 mm gun. Covers 1939 and 1940. I do not know the plans for the future versions of this game so this is just an idea.
And two upgrades for the Elite divisions:
- Panzer division since some of them were upgraded to Panzer (a tank in infantry class looks strange but that is how these divisions developed.) Or maybe a Panzergrenadier division with the right extensions is enough?
- Grenadier division. Late war infantry that has the same difference from early Elite as Regular 43 has from Regular 39, the main difference is Panzerfausts.
Of course it all depends on how much programming/graphic design is needed to create those units. In Panzer General II with its huge icon data base and unit editor a player can create any unit all by himself but that is because of many modders who created icons and modding tools over a period of 20 years.
None of these really maters for 1941 or 1942 but if one day the game develops further they could be made.

Hi Marechal,
both suggestions are doable. If possible i like to have all Panzer variants in the game one day.
Basically you call for an update tree for the Elite units in the second request. Should be according to historical develepment and could even be unique for each German Elite unit as not all made the same steps. Could be a bit confusing though, but would depict them individually. Same could be done with the Großdeutschland.
Would love to do it, but have to think it through, make some tests and cannot promise it will make it in 1.09, but its definitly realistic for a later update.
Regards,

Hi Ronald,
These suggestions are for future versions. I do not know what plans you have for next version but if you are still thinking can I suggest the Finnish continuation zar as the next campaign? For next update after 1.09, that is.
Pz III with 37 mm guns would be needed if/when we have Poland and France.
Upgrades for Elite infantry can be useful when we have Defending the Fatherland campaign. In fact, we already have a possibility to make an AGS campaign for 1941-1943, using the existing scenarios Lwow - Uman - Melitopol - Rostov 1941 - Voronezh - Stalingrad - Maikop - Wintergewitter - Dritte Kharkov - Zitadelle South - Kiev/Zhitomir.
With the current units it can be possible to upgrade early Elite divisions to Elite Panzergrenadier units and Großdeutschland to Army Panzergrenadier. Later in 1943 the first Elite Panzergrenadier units are upgraded to Elite Panzer; more Panzergrenadier units are formed and qt the end of 1943 or early in 1944 also some Elite Grenadier units, many of them from non-Germans.
The Elite units cannot be bought the normal way so new Elite units will be created with the editor and then they just appear when needed. Like Das Reich in 1941 campaign that does not fight in Minsk battle but is available for Smolensk.

True, an AGS campaign is actually what was in my head quite some time because of this, so seeing it come to life would be nice.
Do you intent to create one ? I am not able to any time soon, as 1.09 with the new Soviet campaign will use up all my available resources this year.

Hi Ronald,
The 1941 campaign is in the middle of testing (done until Rostov; I still need to make epic Vyazma and see how the German offensive of Kalinin works) and then there will be time for the AGS campaign so it can be made by the end of the year.

Hi Marechal,
sounds good [:)]
An AGS campaign in combination with the upcoming Soviet campaign would nearly complete the Eastern Front campaigns and battles in GaW.

Hi terminator,
nice to see your are still active in this part of the forum !
I am sure i had a (good?) reason to leave this texture out, its just that i cannot remember it. Anyway it should be around somewhere and its easy to put it into Germany at War. Noted it so you'll get it with 1.09.
Cheers,

Hi Ronald,
I always kept an eye on this forum, but for a moment it was very quiet (dead ?).
To have more ornaments is always considerable especially as there will be maps in winter in the next Soviet campaign ?

the silence was my fault to a high degree, but i had to focus on my new project very heavily. Though this is still the case i now have reached a point were i have gaps here and there which i use to advance Army General and Germany at War.
The forum was never dead thanks to Marechal, who held the hill, waiting for reinforcements...
I try and increase my contributions, but there will still weeks were i cannot post.
The winter acre will surely come in handy with the Soviet strikes on winter maps, landscape is something that could use better and more graphics in general.
But i am still busy adding units, making maps etc. so have to cut some things.

Hi Ronald,
Opening the Western front and 1940? I did not recognize the plane but it looks like a French fighter.

A french fighter, it is sure.
The Morane-Saulnier MS.406 ?

Hi folks,
yes its french & yes its the MS.406.
And of course it will be available to the Finns as they had them in service, too. This was the original reason for creating this model.
The French profit from this with their first fighter being included in 1.09.[;)]

Engineers :
For the German Construction engineers, the name is not complete (it is lacking "engineers" at the end).
We could add the mention "Construction" or "Constr." according to the place on the Russian and German Nato symbols as it is already the case for the Combat engineers.
Other nations could also have engineers as Finland, Hungary, Romania, Italy...

yep, found and corrected this. Will be in 1.09 - thanks for reporting !

No problem with that as long as they were at least batallion size in those nations (which i have to look up).

Hi folks,
we have added a new feature for 1.09: a unit history.
The strength points and the enemies that are destroyed by that unit will be documented.
Hovering over the new icon (the "i" in the circle) in the panel will reveal the list.
Its quite fun to see the list growing during a battle [:D]

Hi Ronald,
This will make the life of the army history department easier, when they start counting victories for fighter aces and Stukas.
Will it be compatible with save games from 1.08?
Depending on how much work it takes, could Pz IVH have the same icon as Pz IVJ? I believe they already had extra armor around the turret in 1943. The Pz IV with the long gun but no extra armor would then remain for Pz IVF2 and Pz IVG in 1942 and maybe some of those are still around in 1943. In Panzer General II it would be assigning another icon (which already exists) from the data base to an existing unit. I do not know how much work editing a unit takes in this game.
