Hi!
Any possibility to get a sal-file in PBEM++? Would be great to plan the next moves and for AARs.

Choose "close" from the main menu and then choose "save and close" when the dialog pops up and the
game engine will write a SAL file to your hard drive and when you start up TOAW again it will be
able to load your saved game and you can continue with your game but you'll have a SAL file.

Hm, didn't work for me. When do I have to close and save? I did before the first combat-round. No sal-file...

If you are playing a PBEM++ game and you choose "close" from the main menu then there's supposed to pop up a dialog to see if you want to just close or if you want to save and close and you should choose "save and close" and a file is supposed to be written to your hard drive and then the game engine is supposed to shut down entirely. If you're not getting the option to "save and close" then you're doing something wrong and without more details I have no idea what it is.

No, I get the option. I use it. The game closes. There is no sal-file. That's my problem.

It's supposed to be written to the "saves" folder and if the file isn't there then I have no idea what's
going wrong.
You may want to open a trouble ticket with the tech support section because I use it every
turn for the sal file and I never seem to have a problem.
EDIT: Okay you've already done that. I think somebody besides me needs to look into this for you.

Interesting, in my save files, I have SAL files but the file names are PBL's, and my opponents files. My opponents files, of course I can't access, but I can pull up my 2nd to last turn. It is helpful, but doesn't have my final battle round turn. Perhaps, this will be patched.

I just now went online and loaded my moves from my PAW PBEM++ game and then did a "close" and then a "save & close" and
there was another file ( PBL.SAL) written to my hard drive that is in addition to the regular PBL file and I assume that
if I post it here below you'll be able to load it as a saved game but you'd have to quit the session to leave the game.
I'll post the saved game on the next post below.

Here's that saved game file I'm talking about. Just unzip it and load it as a saved game.

jeah, I found it. Problem was, the text is so long. It only showed me XY.pbl, but not the .sal afterwards [:D] problem solved.
