Limited Supply Across Straights and Getting Oil to Units that Need to be Reorganized.

1. I stumbled across this quite by accident and I assume it's legit (i.e., legal within the rules of (M)WiF).

2. I'm playing with both optional rules, limited oversea's supply and limited supply across straights.

3. One impact I didn't foresee was that Japanese oil consuming units on the Kyushu home island, where the port Fukuoka is, couldn't be reorganized using oil from another home island connected to Kyushu by straights when the Japanese failed to maintain a CP in either the China Sea or Sea of Japan and when the allies had SCS's remaining in both sea areas after the RTB phase.

4. However, I did find that I could use those straights to save an oil point to the Kyushu home island from another home island. Then, assuming the oil point doesn't get destroy, use that oil point next turn to reorg those units.

If oil could be transported across straits when the enemy is blocking the straits, that is a bug. See point one in the rule quote.

I'm confused because it doesn't show that the units are out of supply. I'm just unable to use an oil point on another home island to reorganize units. So is this a bug or an artifact of LOS overseas and across straights?

The units are in supply because they can trace to a city on the island they are on, and don't have to trace across a strait. They have supply, but not oil.

Limited supply across straits is the worst optional rule to use. It affects even the Italians using oil in Sicily with enemy ships present. Its just a real pain to play with.

Even with the game enforcing the rule I still don't understand it's application. I can't imagine tying to enforce it myself playing the paper and cardboard version of this game.

Thanks. For what's it worth, I'll post a bug report and a couple of game saves on this over in the tech forum.
