I used to be able to get this game to run on my old Windows XP2000 PC fine, albeit slowly.

Now I have two PC's one on Window's 7 and the other Window's 10 and this game will not run on either.
It downloads and installs fine, everything works well until I get to the menu and try to select a scenario or campaign, and then the darn thing just goes and quits on me!
Tells me that there is an error somewhere and I need to go and look up some non-existant log for the report!
Any idea what the problem is? Might be something to do with the installer putting some files or folders in different parts of my PC which then the game can't find... I had a similar problem for a time with ECW but at least I found how to get round this

By default, WIA installs files in the protected "Program Files (x86)" folder. IIRC, starting with Windows XP,
that folder no longer allows a non-Admin user to write files there.

WIA writes logs and game saves to the folder it is installed in, so if you've installed it to the default location
you'll need to be running WIA with Admin privileges.

I've installed WIA in a separate folder that is permissioned to allow 'normal' users read/write privileges. It
seems to work for me.

my variant of this is to have a 'games' directory and install games into their own folders there - tends to give you a bit more control and I've recently bought a new laptop and installed WiA with no problems at all.

also have no issues with the game running on windows 10 either

same instructions are needed as the 1st version
