How to resupply special ammunition like smoke?

When I used up all the smoke of an artillery and have the words "out of smoke", I want to restore it and give the order "Resupply". However, I only find that its ammo is restored and the words "out of smoke" seems never disappear and I cannot use smoke anymore in the next turns. What's wrong?

Special ammo types like smoke, mines, and ICM can not be replaced during the scenario. Only standard HE rounds are available.

A number of things stated in the game manual have changed over the years as we have updated the game. If you have not done so, you should read through the What's New doc to see all of the new features, tweaks, and bug fixes done since release. Enjoy the game!
