Folks,

Is there a relatively easy way to create a campaign that has some hypothetical elements to it? For example, earlier invasion start date, or say for example, earlier introduction of the 88 AT and say Panther tanks in 41?

I love to play "what if" and curious how easy it would be to create a scenario along these lines.

I've played with the editor, but didn't see a way to easily upgrade the TOE or modify the start dates. Would appreciate any advice!

IIRC, the earliest start date available for new scenarios is 6/22/41. Start date was always hard-coded to prevent cheating in multiplayer. Yes, you can have 1943 equip in 1941 in custom scenarios by changing availability and production dates, but be sure to lock the scenario data so you don't lose your revised data to an overwrite or mess up the game's default data. Be very careful when importing data from csv files. Saving a custom scenario does not automatically revise csv files. You have to export your edited scenario data if you want to revise the csv data. Your new scenarios will save your data changes in the scenario subdirectory, but not on the csv files which can only be updated by exporting the edited scenario data or by editing/saving the data using a compatible version of Excel. If none of this makes sense to you, you're probably not yet ready to create "what-if's."
