Something I just learned (or perhaps knew at one time and forgot) - Allied mob/diplo fires after the Axis turn. Royally stuffed up Barbarossa - SU was at 83% and tried to eke out one more turn to prep. Thought I was winning this game; now very much in doubt.

Did it trigger from a diplo hit or just too much unit at the border?

I would think the later, diplo only fires on your turn.

Depends on the date, from July on the mob. doubles.
