[998.10] Detection of Periscopes by Mk.1 Eyeball

A Mk.1 Eyball can detect submarine scopes/masts at periscope depth from 0.9 nm during the blackest night. It can also classify the submarine type (SSN, SSK etc.) I checked for moon phase btw...

I checked this by placing a generic car on the coast (removed its binos) and determined at what distance sub scopes become visible during the night. Fog and rain affects visibility of the scopes, sea state doesn't. Spotting distance during the day with perfect visibility is 1 nm.

Seems any landlubber can spot those spy subs swimming off the coast quite easily... [:)] Is this WAD? In the dark?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Certainly sounds like there is something amiss.

Any chance of a savegame? I know this sounds asinine when you've detailed the circumstances, but there are a lot of variables and providing a save helps us eliminate most of the variables and dial right in on the problem.

Thanks [:)]
