I believe its been answered before but I cannot find that answer.

When playing as a pirate, smuggling resources via a smuggling mission generate smuggling income, However, What generates mining income. I see I am earning it, but it does not seem to match when my mining ships drop off minerals into my base. Specifically "what generates pirate mining income?"

From what I know, pirate mining income is generated when other empires buy materials from your mining stations or have materials delivered to their colonies by your freighters WITHOUT smugling mission. At lest that is what I managed to find on said topic
