Did I help the enemy with my Artillery?

Playing as the WA I added an Artillery attack 'after' my 'move attack' order. Units had 'destination' displayed not 'start position' so the curser gave me the shield symbol not the attack symbol. I think I helped the Axis ? (Please don't take this as a complaint or error report I'm just thinking, in hindsight, the shield symbol meant I was helping the defenders. Still learning and really enjoying.)

First, I'm sorry for the delay in responding; I just returned home from a seminar I attended this weekend.
To your question, I don't think you helped the enemy--but I can't be sure. The display of the British artillery units on the Italian side of the battle display is definitely a bug. I've never seen that before but my hypothesis is it had something to do with all the units in the hex being eliminated.
If you have a save game at this late date it would be worth a look. If not, if you or anyone else sees this display phenomenon again, please send us your save game file.
Thanks for the report!

Sorry I don't have a save... I finished that scenario.
I'll keep watching for it and see if it happens again.
Thanks [:)]

Thanks Brian... I've tried many times and have not been able to replicate the issue so it's not having much of an effect on game play.[:)]

Thanks for your report jack54. I was able to replicate this issue and get a game save for Brian. I think the issue occurs when using the drag and drop method for assigning artillery missions AND the battle results in the enemy target(s) being eliminated. Dunno for sure but my results match yours--friendly artillery unit(s) posted on the wrong side of the ledger.
