AFV only game with SPH2H. BR (Squirmer) vs SO (sandman), May 1945. 100x240 map, vis 32, 20K points.
I have about 180 cardboard British tanks, sandman a slightly lesser number of Russian behemoths.
Turn 1
We move out. T-44s and IS-3s are shooting at us

We're gonna die! In fact a Staghound AC already has
We are now mostly trying to hide, awaiting the march of the awesome Soviet armour with trepidation ...
Score: Tea Drinkers 0 Vodka Drinkers 1
Turn 2

Don't know where sandman is, maybe he'll be along later
Tea Drinkers 8 Vodka Drinkers 5 (running total)
Brit losses: 1 Challenger, 1 Comet, 1 Cromwell VII, 2 Staghounds
Soviet losses: 1 T-44, 5 T-34/85s, 2 T-70s
This seems much more even than the GE vs US Tank Fight. I am having to play much more defensively with the Brits than the Germans.
One thing that is working well are my cruiser platoons, consisting of 3 Comets and 1 Challenger. The Comets (with a lesser gun but better armour) go first, take all the op-fire, then hopefully do some damage and button the target up. After this the Challenger pops out of cover, nails the enemy with its 17 pdr and pops back again.
Well it's worked so far ...

Now I finally found this thread.
A lot of activity this turn.
Vodka drinkers casualty list:
2x T-70
4x T34/85
1x T-44
Tea Drinkers casualty list:
1x Challenger
1x Cromwell
6x Comet
3x Staghound I
2x VC Firefly
Total kills:
Tea Drinkers:15
Vodka Drinkers: 18
This have been quite equal so far, we'll see what happens.
I really hate those Fireflies and Challengers, real snipers if compared with T-models

I like this very much!
Back to you Squirmer.

Sandman's turn was a good one for the Ruskies. They are making a big push in the south, where they already hold the VHs. Brits have the central and northern ones. These are all 100 pt end of battle jobbies.
Anyway, this turn was much quieter but quite pleasing to us Brits.
SO losses: 5 T-44s, 1 T-34/85, 1 T-70
BR losses: 1 Staghound
Three of the T-44 kills were by 75mm, nice to get some flank shots in
Running Total: Teaboys 21 Drunkards 19

BA-64
British casualties:

BTW, Squirmer have an interesting way to create sightblocks...He use Crocodiles flamethrowers, and seems like it works

I knew I shouldn't have left that phalanx of Comets out in the open ... Oh well
sandman is concentrating his forces. There are at least two vast clumps of T-34s and T-44s around. Brits on the other hand are a lot more dispersed.
This turn was again fairly quiet.
SO losses: 2 T-44, 1 T-34/85
BR losses: 1 Crocodile, 3 Staghounds
Running Total: Beer Drinkers 30 Beetroot Eaters 37
The flame blocking thing (using Z key) is only feasible if you have a flame tank with plentiful ammo. Also you really need trees to do it properly, fires in Mixed terrain go out after a while.

This turn was quite quiet, both of us lost 6 tanks.
First it feeled like I can't kill even a single British tank, but Russkies finally did some good job in the southern sector.
Ivans lost 2 T-34/85's and and 4 T-44's
Fruitcakeboys :p lost Crocodile, Archer, 2 Comets and 2
Staghounds.
Total Kills:
Russkies:43
Brits:36
So far, most part of the skirmishes have been fought in the middle/south sections, not much action in the north.
Your turn Squirmer.

BR losses: 1 Comet, 1 Cromwell VII
SO losses: 1 T-44, 4 T-34/85
Running Total: Teaboys 60 Commies 66
I guess we should have only counted actual destroyed tanks as kills ...

Churchill squadron is so incensed at the IS-2 that popped up on a distant hill to kill three of their number that they are now embarked on a suicidal charge for revenge

There is indeed a veritable horde of T-34s in the south. Our brave tanks all beginning with C will stop them though I'm sure
The Churchill charge continues. I just love killing T-44s with my 6 pdr popgun

Takes about 50 shots mind you ...
