Its been two years since the Brilliant defeat of Kamfgruppe willy, By Colonel Deemon's Red Army troops. Having been refitted with state of the art leftovers from Zhukov's Table. The Brave Russian men and that which might qualify as tanks in a time long past, are thrown against Yet another Invading Gaggle of Gerries and their New toys:)
The Game is 6000pts and Tournament Rules.

This gaggle is ready to rumble.
And a rumble it will be - 2am, visibility of 5 and to top it off, the map is a small one, all woods, with a singel east west road to the south and a couple of N-S ones behind our start lines. The center has the usual grouping of wooded hills. September '43.
Kampfgruppe KillAngryDemon starts their engines and rolls into the forest to meet the red horde head on!

The only thing that can e heard in this pristine woodland, is the chirping of birds and the explosions of 120mm shells. Russian artillery opens up killing 6 birds 15 chipmuncks and 3 Nazi Invaders:)
The Glorious Red Army task force, Rushes forward through the bad weather and worse terain.

GE Rocon units step forward and immediately make contact.
Several SU-57 57mm AT trucks are spotted. Actually, they spot my kuebelwagons first and blow up two of them.
But I spot the SU 85 loaded with marines in the north first!
casualties inflicted on the marines and the SU 85 is destroyed by heavy armored cars.
Russian forces have dropped smoke in their own back field to hide the arty parks.
GE arty is yet to fire.....
This is going to be a rough one with the bad weather, night time and short game - 10 turns!

Russian Tankers, Destroy an Armoured Car and slaughter some snipers and scouts. A kubblewagon drives into the sights of a particularly sadistic SU-85 gunner and gets to fly like the birds after being hit with an 85mm round.
At the end of the turn...... Wulfrhamens! Those must have been expensive!!! They do kill a couple of men too.

Heavy Armored cars kill another SU-85 in the north and 2 SU57 AT guns die in the south. Infantry casualties inflicted here and there.
Yup, the rockets were expensive, but they pack a nice punch! When they hit something that is..

This turn The Red Army plays the role of Orcin-man, and exterminates numerous Scout Patrols, Snipers, Kublewagons, MMGs, Panzerfausts and similiar pests that infest the pristine forests ofthe Motherland. You Also loose two heavy Armoured Cars, A halftrack, Two 28mm FJ guns and some MC Men.
At the end of the turn more rockets arrive as well as 105 and 75mm fire. Russian mortars kill some Gerry and yet another Kublewagon. Apparantly Overlords strat is to wear me down with Kublewagon ridin' small fry:)
edit: oneof these days, maybe when I am 40 ill learn to spell:rolleyes:

Angrydeemon is indeed chewing up the gnats.
But, they give good intel and direct heavier units in for an impressive list of kills:
1 T-34, 1 Flame T-34, 3 SU-85, 8 SU-57 and various infantry casualties.
USSR forces control most of the VH's, but GE forces begin to push back a little harder and take a couple of flags.
Special Ops forces make an appearance, and boy can I pick good spots! Both show up right on top of other units - one a goroup of engineers and an SU-57, and the other in the middle of a T-34 platoon with tank riders:rolleyes:
So, of course they attack!:D Engineers are killed, but no damage is done to the T-34's. Oh well, I HIGHLY doubt they will survive the next round....

Ok USSR, continues its pest control duty. Multiple Armoured cars, Kublewagonen, Heavy armoured cars, halftracks, scout patrols, crewmen, MMGs ans some nfantry are killed with little mercy. I still dont see your heavy stuff.

Heavy stuff?
We have no heavy stuff.
Just snipers on rollerskates!
The Soviet forces seem to have an endless supply of SU-57's. Killed 7 more of them this turn and there are still a half dozen or so spotted elsewhere. 2 OT-34 flame tanks and a T-34 die as well.
Soviet forces are pushing hard in the north. More SU-85's are spotted but we can deal with those later.
The battle for the southern and central VH's is starting to heat up. Infantry going at it accross the entire front.
This is an ugly one.

Hah. Would you be surprised if I told you that you lost at least 3 heavy armoured Cars, 1 Panzer IV, A Halftrack and some footmen?

No surprise - it was bound to happen unfortunately.
The fighting is getting ugly as GE and USSR forces push harder against each other. Deemon has chewed through much of my recon screen (at a high price:D ) and now the heavier units are loosing their cover....
We give some more punishment back to avange the PzIVg!
3 T-34s, 5 more SU-57 (how many of those things do you have

?) and lots of crews are dispatched. Infantry mix it up as well inflicting casualties on both sides.
Soviet forces are pushing hard in the north, GE forces fall back to better defensive positions. The northern vh is still solidly in Soviet hands, but GE forces are advancing on the center and southern....the 3 T-34 kills in the south should help this cause!
Nasty fight this is!

I dont do too much this turn, except leve many of myguys in the open. On the oftopic, a calld for reinforcements 4 turns ago and they are not here. At this point in thegame I dont want them anymore:mad:

Panzers take advantage of 3 T-34's left out in the open, destroying 2. The last is the luckiest T-34 alive as it survives at least a dozen hits, a few penetrating. If the crew doesnt bail then they must surely be drunk...
2 more SU-57's are taken out and lots of casualties inflicted on infantry. GE forces seem to have the upper hand in the south for now while Soviet forces are pushing hard in the north.
Fighting is fierce in this one.

My AUX Units arrive after taking 4 turns to get here>: Minor firefights between infantry occurs during this turn, one of your own nebelwerfers kills an Armoured vechicle of some kind, but I didnt see what it killed, I just Heard the sound and know that I certainly have no tanks left:)
Gerry AUX spotted

Dang flame rocket landed on an ht....
I have mixed feelings about rockets. They do beautiful things to the bad guys, but they are definately an asset to use when hone of your units are anywhere near by.......even air strikes are more accurate!
At this point, I would trade my wulframens for mortars...
Anyhow, my GE forces seem to have crushed the resistance for now around the southern VH's. The infantry that was in the immediate vicinity of the vh's has been destroyed, dispersed or surrendered. GE forces move to secure the area. This is right along the road so I will be expecting Mr. Deemons reinforcments (tons of SU-57s maybe??) to hit me in a turn or two down there.
The rest of the map is very wooded and he has no roads for quick access anywhere else....but who knows?
The GE advance at the center vh is moving well. The infantry defending that are has been destroyed or driven back a safe distance. Left some units a little too exposed there but I can afford them at this point and want to make sure no reds are near by. Most of the flags there are in GE hands. Next turn for the rest.
The northern vh is very close to the center (8 or so hexes away) but still may be a tough fight to get to. Seems to be lots of infantry around them. Still figuring out how to take care of that one....
Deemon has made a big push in the far north with infantry and SU-85's throughout the game. A PzIVg finished off a pesky SU-85 this turn that I have been hunting the last 3. Lots of infantry up there too but I havent seen any transports (unless the dead SU-85s were it), so they may not be much of a worry. They are probably too far away to trouble me around the vh's.
MY reinforcemnets came the turn after I orderd them!
I love Germany efficiency!

In the North " probably too far away to trouble me" Red Infantry Destroy a Halftrack, Kublewagon, two Biker Gangs, Crewmembers and rough up some SS.
In the Center nothing occurs, since everyone is dead:rolleyes:
In the South " The infantry that was in the immediate vicinity of the vh's has been destroyed, dispersed or surrendered" Makes a Comeback and Kills a Halftrack, SS Squad Kublewagon and roughs up some spec ops.
Reinforcements have arrived at the battle, and will be put to full use next turn (too bad my cav wont make it).

Ok, so I was a little optomistic:rolleyes:
In the north, not too much going on this turn.....
In the center, some more infantry is mopped up. The center VH is further reinforced.
In the south, more infantry is destroyed and spend some time rallying. Those 120mm mortars have my boys a little shaken up. Lots of dirty drawers....
Recon units report back what the Reds have puchased for reiforcements - lots of Stuarts! A gift from the USA....they have sped down the road to attack the southern GE controlled VH.
More forces are sent southward to deal with the threat and some arty is called in. The rockets actually land in the vicinity of HIS troops this time....thats an improvement.

The moment of Truth Approaches. Both the Far left and Far Right VH are firmly in the hands of the Controlling side. The Far North VH is 3/4 Russian 1/4 German. An Spec Ops squad was anihilated there this turn and mortar rounds dropped in the vicinity... only need to hold one more turn.
The Center VH are firmly in German Control. The Northern Infantry will not be able to get there in time, although they destroyed an armoured car and some SS this turn.
The Far SOuther VH is where its at:) 1 and a half batteries of 120mm mortars and an equal number of 80mm are frantically pounding the ground, as are german Rockets and 105s. Two AC and some infantry were killed there this turn and more than a company of stuarts is ready to retake these VH for the motherland!
It is turn 9 of 10 next turn will decide the battle:)
A tachanka rushing to the fron was ambushed on the road by a spe op squad. Good thing all my tanks got through.
