Hi, question 1. in the title.
Question 2.
Is there a detailed full WW2 (ie. 39-45 / all European theaters) scenario you would recommend ?
Thx

I like D21 for the Eastern front. As for your second question, I would like an answer to that one also.

In FITE2 you can break some units down to company and platoon level on a 5km hex. But it does take a long time to play a game so you must ensure that your opponent will hang round for a couple of years. The current (test) game that Willie and I are playing started Oct 15 on the development forum and in game time we are now in Feb 44. There were a few bugs in this old version of the game but the current version has a lot of improvements. However I did find one small map error last week but it has no effect on the game. It was a rail hex in a town with no other rail lines round it.
FITE2 is now the only game I will play.

Wow ! And where can I find the FITE 2 scenario ? I cannot see it in my standard package nor in the scenarios section of the forum so I guess it 's to be downloaded from somewhere ? Do you have a link ?
Thx

It is the custom graphs folder but is PBEM only. Over the past 12-15 years I have started 7 or 8 games but every player except Willie has pulled out after about 6 months. You will spend a lot of time and effort so it is not for faint hearted. In the beginning turns can take 3-5 hours but as the war progress the turns do shorten. I currently have 1,627 units (down from about 2,346) in play and it is taking about 2 hrs per turn. The big problem is having to dig all those units in. At some future update we need a "dig in all units" button which you can use at the end of the turn.
The version in the folder is 1.3 but I have a feeling there has been a couple of small updates / fixes since then. I have just sent an email to Soren and Kristian to confirm.
If you do start a game it will take a couple of years to play to the end.

Oh it's PBEM only ?! What does it mean exactly? The AI is not working ? Or is performing poorly ?
I just loaded it ! It looks ... monstrous !

))) What a monster game! A mammoth game ! Can imagine a turn takes 4 good hours

Yes FITE 2 is indeed the most huge eastern front scenario I have ever seen and played. Vast map and a never ending array of units to work with. I think only me and Fogger are the only people that actually play this game, Ive tried it against the computer also but it does not work that great much better against human player.

Did you try to load "World At War 1939-1945" ?
It seems quite massive and covers the whole European theater.

The current version is 1.4 - it is included in the game (TOAW version 4.1)

Thanks, I will have to take a look at that one. It sounds like an interesting play.

How would you compare playing Germans and Soviets in FITE 2 ?
I guess that playing Germans turns is much longer ? What are the main differences ?

I only play the Germans so all the answers given about relate to the German side only. Soren and Willie would be the best people to ask re the Russians.
Yes at the start of the game there is a lot of planning and moving as the German player has to attack along the entire front. But as the war progress the German player is not strong enough to attack everywhere. And now in 1944 not strong enough to defend everywhere.

The more I think about it the more I feel ready and willing to start a mammoth game like FITE2
How does FITE2 compares with DON (Drang Nacht Osten) ?

I liked DNO back in the day when I played TOAW 3, a great scenario and Daniel McBride must take credit for that.
FITE2 is on a different level a heck of a lot of work has went into it by the scenario designers and credit to them also. You will need a lot of time and effort to play this and find a willing opponent as it will take years to complete. I cannot comment on the latest version as I have not upgraded yet. From the Russian side of things I can tell you that it is tough going until late 1942, I now have an utterly huge mass of men and material to throw at the Germans.[X(]

Back to FITE2. I'm wondering if, given TOAW's rounds/time stamp system, you can move all units within a single turn or if the system generates some limitations ? I loaded the game and started a turn with Germans but after just a few moves/battles, I'm already at 50% of my turn and I don't see how I will be able to move all (or at least a large number) of my troops. So basically, during a turn, are you obliged to do cherry picking and only move the very necessary units or do you have largely enough rounds/time stamps to move all (or most of) your units ?

This is not GG War in the Name Your Place. Time has meaning here. Judging by your post you need to go through some tutorials so you can understand what is going on and how to play. Try these:
